THE SHOP IS OPEN!

FANTASTIC NEWS - Clifton Hill Costume & Textiles is open for trading from today!  Go along to Lower Clifton Hill and have a look at the amazing clothes and textiles and you can buy tickets for the launch event there too.

I popped in last night and the shop is looking fab - the most beautiful vintage wooden closets and haberdashery stands filled with gorgeous vintage materials, hats, lace, jewellery - it's just a treasure trove of goodies.

Over the next couple of weeks Jen will be putting more on display but there are already so many goodies on show - go along and take a peek and I know you'll stay longer than you planned!

Directions:
Drive up Jacobs Wells Road and Lower Clifton Hill is the second turning on your left (near the top of the Hill).  You turn back on yourself up the hill and the shop is almost immediately on your right hand side, next to the Eldon Pub (highly recommended for a drink and great pub grub after your visit to the shop!)

Vintage Swimwear Shoot at Clifton Lido

Clifton Hill Costume and Textiles has a significant collection of vintage swimwear ranging from the Victorian era to the 1970`s.

Synergy Styling and Photography planned and styled this vintage swimwear shoot www.stylingandphotography.co.uk which was a creative collaboration with Helen Lewis an amazing make up artist from London and local hair stylist Steven Rooney. Connie from Flowers of Stokes Croft created the real flower swim hat and our models were Bethan Searle, Dejah Baptiste, Rose Gover and Ryan Cloud. Despite the weak, watery sunshine it was very cold but our models were consummate professionals as you can see in this sneaky peek photograph taken by Venetia Norrington one half of "Synergy" and also of Firetop Photography fame www.firetopphotography.co.uk

Clifton Hill Costume and Textiles

Spring Launch Event

April 18th 2013

Clifton Hill Costume and Textiles

at Clifton Hill House

7pm – 10pm

Clifton Hill Costume and Textiles is an antique and vintage costumier and haberdashery suppliers, re-opening after the owner and founder Gillian Hodder passed away early in 2011. After extensive refurbishment of the building, and the long, but amazing experience of sorting through her vast-30 year-collection, the shop is preparing to open to the public once again in February 2013.

To celebrate the opening of the shop, show off some fine outfits and display some most delightful curios, Clifton Hill Costume & Textiles is hosting an evening of glamour, fashion and fun. Featuring live tableaux with models in situ wearing amazing vintage outfits, music, stalls and a catwalk show, the event is to be held in the superb Clifton Hill House. The Bristol University Halls is a great venue and only a couple of minutes’ walk from the shop itself!

The stunning haberdashery units that were the focus of the main part of the shop for many people are richly stocked with luxurious handmade and machine lace, gentlemen’s spectacles, underwear, stockings and scarves, whilst the buttons and buckles come in unbelievable quantity!

“It’s been a real boost doing various markets and events, I have met some great people; general public and local designers and makers, many of whom had visited Gill’s Clifton Hill Antique Costume and Textiles in the past and are hotly anticipating its return”.

Tickets are £3 in advance and £4 on the door.

Tickets will be available from sue@auntiesvintagechina.co.uk
